Ms. Bergin joined the Palumbo Wolfe team in 2009 after an extensive career working in and around the medical field. Ms. Bergin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University in 1986, and became a critical care nurse. She worked as a critical care nurse for six years, caring for intensely ill cardiac, surgical, medical and trauma patients. She went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, from the University of Arizona in 1992.
Ms. Bergin started her legal career as a medical malpractice defense attorney in the Phoenix area. She spent years defending physicians, hospitals, nurses, and other medical professionals in litigation. Ms. Bergin went on to become a Risk Manager, Compliance Officer, Safety Officer and Privacy Officer for a national healthcare organization in 1998. She investigated medical errors and incidents and negotiated and resolved disputes. Ms. Bergin developed and implemented numerous compliance systems involving patient safety and security with the goal to minimize medical errors. She advised medical staff members and the hospital board on credentialing issues, peer review and claims management of medical litigation. She developed and implemented systems to improve the delivery of healthcare to patients.
Ms. Bergin returned to private practice in 2001, since litigating numerous catastrophic injury, medical negligence, professional liability and premise liability cases. Ms. Bergin uses her medical background to help personal injury and medical negligence victims receive the full and fair compensation they deserve.
Ms. Bergin lives in Tucson, AZ with her husband and their three children.
